EZManage SQL vendor and developer announced the acquisition of the fast growing company DBSophic

The acquisition will expand the acquiring company's solutions for the applicative environment of MS SQL. DBSophic, has developed an innovative solution for SQL server's workload tuning. Customers include Siemens, Nestle, BMW, and the US air force.

The developer of the EZManage SQL software, DBA Services, announced the acquisition of DBSophic. The company notes that the acquisition will expand its solutions on the applicative environment of Microsoft SQL.

We did not rest... Your feedback and bug reports kept us busy improving, fixing and enhancing Qure Analyzer to keep its position as the best workload analysis tool available for SQL Server.

Radical Changes in Licensing and Editions of SQL 2012

2 days ago, Microsoft announced the new licensing scheme and available editions for SQL 2012.

In a nutshell:

  • SQL 2012 will be available in 3 major editions: Standard, BI, and Enterprise.
    • Web, Developer and Express editions will also be available
  • SQL 2012 licenses will be core based and/or user and device based.
  • Cloud optimized licensing with “floating” virtual core licenses.
